Terms of Service

The rules for using Manabarang: your account, your content, paying for a plan and what happens if something goes wrong.

Last updated 5 October 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Manabarang, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (“we”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you use Manabarang for a business, you confirm you may bind it.

2. What the service is

Manabarang lets you record the things you own, where they are, who has borrowed them, their warranties, pre-orders and wishlist, share them with people you choose, and optionally publish a sale listing or a found-item page. It is a record-keeping tool. It is not insurance, a valuation, legal or financial advice, or a guarantee that an item is yours, genuine or worth any amount.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for tokens you create.
  • Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One person per account. Share a space with others by inviting them, not by sharing a password.
  • Free trials are limited to one per person. We may refuse or end a trial we believe is being abused.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into the service: items, notes, photos, receipts and messages. You give us permission to store, process, copy for backup and display it, only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with.

You confirm that you have the right to upload your content and that it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights. You are responsible for keeping your own copy. We recommend exporting your data from time to time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for anything unlawful, or to list stolen, counterfeit or prohibited goods.
  • Upload malware, or content that is abusive, defamatory, obscene or infringes someone’s rights.
  • Try to access other people’s data, probe or disrupt the service, or avoid rate limits or plan limits.
  • Send spam or unwanted messages through found-item or listing forms, or collect other people’s contact details.
  • Scrape the service, or resell or sublicense it, without our written permission.
  • Create accounts to get repeated free trials.

6. Spaces, members and public pages

The person who creates a space owns it and controls who joins and what they can see. Members can see and change what their role allows, and the space keeps a history of changes. If you invite someone, you are responsible for telling them their data will be handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

If you turn on a found-item page or a sale listing, anyone with the link can see what it shows. You are responsible for what you publish and for any sale you make. We are not a party to a sale between a seller and a buyer, do not hold money, and do not check items, buyers or sellers. Meet and pay with care.

7. Plans, payment and refunds

  • Prices. Plans and add-ons are charged in Malaysian ringgit (RM) at the prices on our pricing page when you buy. Taxes are added where they apply.
  • Renewal. Paid plans renew every month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Settings. You keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for, and we do not refund part-periods unless the law requires it.
  • Trials. A trial runs for the length shown when you start it. When it ends your account moves to the plan shown at the time, which may be the free plan.
  • Lifetime plan. A one-time payment for the lifetime of the service, not of you. It may be refunded within the refund period shown on the plan when you bought it. After that it is not refundable. If we ever discontinue the service we will give you at least 90 days’ notice and time to export your data.
  • Changes in price. We may change prices for future periods. We will tell you before a change reaches your next renewal, and you can cancel first.
  • Limits. Each plan has limits, such as homes, items, members and storage. If you go over a limit after a downgrade or an expired plan, we do not delete your data, but you may be unable to add more until you are back within it.
  • Store purchases. If you buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store handles billing, cancellation and refunds under its rules.
  • Promo codes. Codes can be used under the conditions shown with them and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Nothing in this section limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or other laws that cannot be waived.

8. Connected apps and the API

You can let other apps, including AI assistants, act on your behalf by approving them and choosing scopes. They can only do what the scopes allow, and you can disconnect them at any time in Settings. We are not responsible for what a third-party app does with the access you give it, or for mistakes it makes while using your data.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features, with notice where a change would reasonably affect you. We take regular backups, but you should keep your own copy of anything important.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others or the service at risk, or where the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.

When an account is deleted, its data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as liability and governing law, continue to apply.

11. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be accurate, secure, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Exchange-rate conversions are for convenience and may differ from the rate you are charged or paid.

12. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data or items, whether or not we were told it was possible. Our total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and RM100.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute, except that nothing here removes protections you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to settle a problem informally.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for a change that matters, email you or show a notice in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after the effective date, you accept the new terms. If you do not, you can close your account.
